HUMOR BLOG: What has Outcomes Based Education done to our Matrics and How do we Fix it?

Outcomes Based Education: In goes a bright young kid, a few years of our school system are inflicted on him/her and out comes someone who’s barely qualified to be unemployed.

There’s the usual moaning about discipline problems and bringing back corporal punishment, but I don’t think hitting will solve anything. Some of those teachers look big enough to hit back. Teachers’ unions are joining forces to improve standards, but they say their work will only show results in five years. In school terms that’s like saying “Sorry, the dog ate my assignment. I’ll hand in some homework by 2015. Promise. Maybe.”

Naturally, the politicians are concerned, but I’m nervous of taking education advice from people for whom
4x4 = free vehicle.
